During the winter holiday season, please remember PAL Ottawa, which works to ensure that capital region seniors who work(ed) in the arts sector will always have a safe, affordable home during the holidays and every other time of the year as well.

Did you know that the Ottawa Board of Trade and Ottawa Tourism recently declared that culture is a key contributor to Ottawa-Gatineau’s vibrant economy and quality of life? Indeed, our arts workers make Ottawa a great place to live. Yet Stats Canada data shows that the annual incomes of most local arts workers remain below the poverty line.
That means the challenge of securing affordable places to live and work – especially for seniors with little or no pension – hangs like a dark cloud over far too many, increasing their risk of health problems and isolation.
Your support helps sustain the work of PAL Ottawa: a non-profit charity dedicated to providing senior arts workers in Canada’s Capital with a community of support today and solutions for an affordable housing and workspace community tomorrow.
Our vision is of an Ottawa that gives back to our artists by creating an affordable live-work centre for those aged 55+ as already exists in Toronto, Vancouver and Stratford.
We also welcome memorial donations, legacy donations, and donations in honour of special people or occasions.
You can also choose to direct your donation towards our General Programs Fund or Housing Project Fund.
