This delicate, moving piece by esteemed Canadian playwright John Mighton tells the story of Clara and Patrick, two elderly residents of a veterans’ nursing home who may have been lovers years earlier. Their children, confronted by their parents’ blossoming romance, must cope with their own feelings as their parents learn to love again. With tenderness and humour, Half Life explores the realities of love, beauty, memory and aging. Mighton has won two Governor General’s Awards for his plays, one of which was for Half Life, as well as the Siminovitch Award for advancing Canadian theatre in his body of work. Thanks to the generous support of the Ottawa Little Theatre, all revenues from this matinée performance will go to PAL Ottawa.
