Creative Arts Workers!

PAL Ottawa is offering $1000 for on-line presentations!

PAL Ottawa is seeking submissions from a wide range of arts workers to give Zoom and similar platform sessions during the first three months of 2021. We are seeking presentations that are energetic, interactive and educational and provide a memorable experience for the online audience, leaving them with a desire to learn more perhaps through your work or others in your field. PAL Ottawa is an organization in the nation’s capital, which provides arts workers aged 55+ with affordable housing and personal support in a creative, caring community.

Examples in the field of music, dance, theatre, visual arts, writing could be but not limited to: an overview of creative writing from poetry and fiction to prose and journalism; a tutorial on music composition; a virtual art tour; an introduction to pencil drawing or watercolour; how archives preserve cultural memory; scene study for drama enthusiasts;  dance techniques for physical fitness; a mini-concert with songs and stories. Use your imagination and let us know how you can really shine with the audience. Sessions can be led by a single individual or a group of people.

Sessions are open to members of the public with the focus on PAL’s demographic which is 55+.  Individuals/groups selected will receive an honorarium of $1,000 each to design, prepare, and present a single on-line session (from 1 to 2 hours) Preference will be for those arts workers who live and work in our Eastern Ontario catchment area and have been economically affected by COVID 19.

Please send your creative session proposals (no longer than one page), a resume, and an explanation of the impact that COVID 19 has had on your financial well-being to supportingcast@palottawa.org by December 7, 2020.
