As strategic projects like PAL Place pick up speed, we are providing a space for the PAL community to gather in real-time to receive updates, ask questions and build relationships, so that you can fully participate in the journey with us!

Community Discussion events will be held virtually on a quarterly basis.

In January 2025, PAL Ottawa sought to provide a space for the PAL community to gather in real-time to receive updates, ask questions and build relationships. These events have been happening online through Zoom and are anticipated to continue throughout 2025.

Theatreks - Excursions for Theatre Lovers - 2023, 2024

Since September 2023, PAL Ottawa has partnered with Theatreks, keeping PAL Ottawa subscribers in-the-know of the opportunity to attend pre-planned, day-trips to attend live theatre. Including transportation, meals, and tickets, these incredible excursions are curated and run by Fran Pearl of Theatreks. Montreal is a primary destination for these trips, with a multi-day trip to the infamous Stratford Festival having been added to their rotation as of 2024.

PAL Ottawa is the beneficiary of Theatreks initiatives and grateful for proceeds raised. When you participate in Theatreks programming, you also support PAL Ottawa in our care for senior artists.

20th Century Boys - 2023, 2024

The 20th Century Boys is an Ottawa-based band playing everything from R&B to funk, rock ’n roll and jazz rock.

For over 20 years, the band has held 20 annual Christmas concerts with proceeds going toward local charities. Since 2023, PAL Ottawa has been incredibly lucky to be the benefactors of their fundraising concerts. Previous recipients from the band's concerts include the Ottawa Cancer Society, the Ottawa Food Bank, Shine Community Music Program, and more.

Health, Wellness, and Art Series, 2021

Don Gibbons’ Artistic Diversion - November 4, 2023

PAL Ottawa’s Treasurer, Don Gibbons, welcomed over 100 guests to Don’s Art Diversion Fundraiser at the residence of New Zealand’s High Commissioner. The evening featured live music from Ottawa jazz guitarist, Justin Duhaime, and on display were 45 paintings created by Don himself. Through a silent auction, the evening sold 40 paintings, raising over $10,000 for PAL Ottawa!
