Donations In Memory of Bob Jones

I had the privilege of becoming a friend of Shirley Greenberg in later life. We met at a PAL Ottawa event “Don’t Quit Your Day Job” and through Harvey Glatt, a member of PAL Ottawa’s Advisory Committee became better acquainted.

Louise Glatt; musician, arts supporter and philanthropist, and PAL Ottawa member, passed away May 26, 2022. The Ottawa Citizen writes, “During 66 years of marriage, Harvey and Louise played lead roles in enriching the arts scene in Ottawa.

Grete Hale's philanthropy and support of those near and far spanned decades, and we at PAL Ottawa are so happy to have worked with and received support from such an incredible woman. 

The recent death of Alison Atkins was a painful shock to many of us in Ottawa, particularly those in the arts. Although she was a great communicator, she hid her light under many bushels. The first contribution that we know of is the founding of a theatre group in Whitehorse in the early 80s, when she was working for the Federal Government.

PAL Ottawa celebrates and thanks Di Kirkwood for her long-standing support of the Arts in Ottawa.

Last September 4, 2021, PAL Canada Foundation and its community lost a true champion of the arts and a dear friend and supporter of the PAL mission. Alison Atkins was one of the co-founders of PAL Ottawa and served on the board of PAL Canada from July of 2016 up until her untimely passing when she was serving as President.
